The Admin Diary gives administrators a quick overview of the administrative events in a UCS domain. It is logging UCS domain specific actions such as the creation and modification of objects in the directory service, the installation or update of an app as well as domain joins, and UCS systems updates.
The Admin Diary is composed of two separate apps: Admin Diary Backend and Admin Diary Frontend. Both are installed via the Univention App Center. The Admin Diary Backend is based on a SQL database in which all events in the domain are stored. The Admin Diary Frontend displays the data graphically and offers access to it via the Univention Management Console. This way, the Admin Diary provides administrators with a quick overview of all events, even if they have been performed by other administrators, It also helps to understand changes in the behavior of the systems in place over a longer period of time.
