ownCloud is an On-premise platform for file sync and share which can − unlike public cloud services − be installed on your own servers or in a data center of your choice. There is no need to entrust sensitive data to external cloud services. As a result companies can gain more control mechanisms of their intenernal IT, reduce the impact of data silos and are finally able to ensure that security and compliance measures are met.
This application will install the free ownCloud Server as a default.
In addition users can try the functionality of ownCloud by it25 by installing the package "owncloud-byit25" for a trial period of 30 days.
"ownCloud by it25" is a file sync and share solution for the Univention Corporate Server based on the most recent version of ownCloud Enterprise Edition. Its primary audience are small and medium enterprises and institutions with up to 500 users. UCS-administrators can add and manage ownCloud functions with only little effort. By using the seamless integration into Univention Corporate Server all needed informations about users and groups can be accessed and used in a ready-for-production pre-configured environment.
