With Mattermost in the App Center, we now offer the first ChatOps tool in our wide range of solutions.
Mattermost is much more than just a normal chat tool. By combining people, tools, processes and automation into a transparent workflow, it is possible to raise conversation-driven collaboration to a new level. With the software you can organize all users in team rooms (public and private) and groups. Most of the communication then takes place in these team rooms. Of course, a 1:1 communication is also possible. Mattermost can be used in the browser or via a mobile app for iOS and Android.
Team Edition
The app offered here is based on Docker and will be installed on UCS in your own environment. After installation, the software runs in a team edition. The team edition does not support LDAP connectivity.
Enterprise Edition
In order for Mattermost to run synchronized with the directory service in UCS, you must install a license key that upgraded the product to the Mattermost Enterprise Edition. After the upgrade, users can link their account to their LDAP account. Data is not lost, but is retained.
Further Information
Our partner Kopano, manufacturer of the collaboration solution of the same name, is the maintainer of the app and issues Enterprise as well as trial licenses. The aim is also to sell the app via our transaction platform. A branded appliance is also under construction.
The software can be integrated into Kopano WebApp and DeskApp via a plug-in. Other applications are connected to Mattermost Rooms as bots or via so-called slash commands.
