This guarantees lasting, stable operations and allows users to update on the day that fits best their needs. UCS Enterprise Subscriptions are valid for twelve months. After the expiration of this period, the subscription will be automatically extended by another year. If this extension is not wanted, notice of termination must be given at least three months prior to the expiration of the running contract. UCS Domain Services
UCS provides functions with which organizations can administrate networks, control end devices’ access to such networks, and centrally manage users’ sign-ons to end devices and applications. These functions are referred to by the name UCS Domain Services. They include DNS, DHCP, LDAP, Kerberos, SAML, Active Directory-compatible services, and Radius.
All the functions specified can be installed, configured, and used for the management and provision of applications with UCS in the scope of any UCS subscription at no extra charge.
Subscriptions for UCS Domain Services need to be taken out if UCS is used for one or more of the following applications:
- Configuration of operating systems or applications run on end devices (examples: configuration via DHCP, Radius, or group policies)
- Signing on of end users on end devices (example: authentication on end devices via LDAP, Kerberos, or Active Directory-compatible services) or
- Signing on to locally run applications on the end devices (with the exception of web-based applications)
UCS Domain Services are not software, but rather subscriptions intended for the use of these functions for the described purpose.
The subscription price for the UCS Domain Services is calculated either based on the number of end devices or the number of active users, independently of the number of UCS servers in use.
You can select whether billing should be performed based on the number of users or end devices. There is then no limit for the respective other parameter in the license key.
Subscriptions for UCS Domain Services are renewed annually like server subscriptions.
Extended security maintenance
For customers using UCS Base or Standard Subscription as well as older UCS versions which are not any more covered by the regular maintenance service, we offer an extension of the security update service. This allows those customers to have more time for the planning and execution of the necessary updating process.
For further information on this maintenance extension and prices please contact us.
