In addition to the app privacyIDEA, which was added to the Univention App Center a few weeks ago, Univention’s partner NetKnights now provides two extensions privacyIDEA PAM and privacyIDEA RADIUS.
With privacyIDEA as the authentication software, it is possible to extend users’ login into applications via password to a second security factor such as a hardware token or a smart phone. Stolen or lost passwords thus become useless for potential attackers and thanks to this, the user accounts and the data behind it are protected sustainably.
The new apps privacyIDEA PAM and privacyIDEA Radius easily extend the setup of this strong authentication method to SSH, local login, Univention Management Console, firewall, and VPN. After the installation, it is sufficient to set a UCR variable in order to further secure the desired applications.
