The new UCS release 3.2-2 offers various usability and security updates as well as an updating of the UCS Debian basis to version 6.0.9. In addition, the App Center has been improved. Software manufacturers who want to embed their solutions in there, can now select between the processor architectures 32 and 64 bit for the provision of their software packages. This choice facilitates the process very much as now only one processor architecture has to be supported by each application that is about to be integrated in the App Center.

Part of the performance improvements is the optimisation of the Active Directory integration in UCS. To give an example, during the domain join of Windows clients to a UCS domain, the clients’ system time will be synchronised automatically.

Part of the new apps in the Univention App Center is the RADIUS app, which allows to centrally control the access to the company’s internal WLAN for all users, groups and end devices via the UCS management. The access to individual user end devices such as smartphones and tablets can also be managed. In addition, the AD Takeover assistant can now be installed via the App Center. This assistant enables the complete migration of Active Directory domains to UCS within few mouse clicks.
