In addition to the communication and collaboration software OX App Suite, the text editor OX Text from Open-Xchange is now also available in the Univention App Center. Both applications can be installed with just a few clicks and automatically integrated in UCS’ central user and service management.
OX App Suite offers users a browser-based web desktop with which they can edit their e-mails, address books and appointments and manage image, audio, video and Office files in one central application. The text editor OX Text complements the range of functions with the possibility of editing Microsoft Word and OpenOffice/LibreOffice files directly in the browser. All the documents are saved centrally in OX Text, which avoids the possibility of overlapping or multiple edits. OX Text facilitates workflows and the shared editing of documents, as the files can be read and edited directly in the browser without any need to convert them. As OX Text only saves the changes and not the complete document, the formatting and layout of the original document are preserved completely. This innovation is a fundamental requirement for successful cooperation with employees, business partners and friends who wish to continue using their respective desktop office software.
