Clouds Sky GmbH Offers On-demand Business Services with Univention Corporate Server and OpenStack
Bremen, Cologne, March 11, 2015 — Univention, the leading European provider of open source IT infrastructure management solutions, today announced that Clouds SkyGmbH, a Univention partner and cloud solution provider, is now offering Univention Corporate Server (UCS) as a cloud service, including over 60 integrated business apps in the Univention App Center. This includes the new app “OpenCms for UCS”. OpenCms is integrated with the identity and LDAP management of UCS and can be installed and used via the App Center with just a few clicks. Now, with its integrated App Center and “OpenCms for UCS”, UCS can be tested as an on-demand service from the OpenStack cloud at Clouds Sky free of charge for 90 days.

Univention Corporate Server is an enterprise server operating system with a powerful management system for identity and infrastructure management in heterogeneous IT environments of all shapes and sizes. With its comprehensive Active Directory functions, it is the cost-efficient alternative to Microsoft Windows’ Active Directory. In addition, the UCS management system can be used to operate virtual machines and resources simply with Amazon EC2 or OpenStack. The Univention App Center currently offers over 60 business applications – from groupware, collaboration, documentation and web content management systems to backup and enterprise resource planning solutions.
“OpenCms for UCS” is a new addition to the Univention App Center. OpenCms is a professional website and web content management system for the simple creation and maintenance of simple information websites or blogs right up to very extensive knowledge management, job, sales and marketing, community and news or video/media portals. With OpenCms customers can manage different websites with one single installation.
New: “OpenCms for UCS” – Offer customised personal content
The new integration between OpenCms with UCS is available for installation and use now via the Univention App Center. This integration allows the implementation of personalized Intranet and Internet portals. These can take user roles into account and provide customized personal content, as is the case with staff, video and news portals on the Intranet, for example.
With Univention App Center customers can simply and rapidly integrate OpenCms with other App Center applications. One example is file-sharing solution ownCloud for shared data storage, or the “SAML identity provider” for implementing single sign-on scenarios.

Users can now try UCS and Clouds Sky free of charge for 90 days (with or without preinstalled OpenCms) in the OpenStack cloud environment.
