Bremen, June 30, 2026 – Univention GmbH, provider of open source solutions for the efficient management of digital identities and the integration of applications, is sharpening its product communications and placing Nubus at the heart of its portfolio as the central IAM solution.
Nubus brings together the capabilities for identity and access management, application integration, as well as single sign-on and authentication. With this move, Univention makes its own product world easier to understand: users, prospects, and partner companies can now see at a glance which product addresses which task. The focus is therefore on the practical value of IAM – from the central management of identities and access control to the digital sovereignty of organizations.
The solution can be flexibly adapted to each organization’s IT strategy and operated either cloud-natively as Nubus for Kubernetes or as Nubus for Virtual Machines (UCS) in traditional virtualization and on-premises environments. Which variant is used is a technical architecture decision rather than a question of the product itself.
UCS thus remains a proven deployment model and an integral part of the offering, and will going forward denote the operating model of Nubus for virtual machines and hardware. In doing so, and as part of this clearer product structure, Univention is positioning its original product brand UCS – for many years the company’s established on-premises platform – exclusively as a technical deployment and operating environment.
