We were happy to announce the Sovereign Productivity Suite (SPS) at the Univention Summit on January 29  In cooperation with our partners Open-Xchange and Nextcloud, we are delivering and developing a product combination that is specifically tailored to the public sector for office work and online collaboration as well as digital education offerings.

This open source solution stack, which we jointly presented, combines products that have been proven in the marketplace with more than 100 million users and will include open source software components from each of the three partners. The suite will offer, for example, a UCS-based online user portal for easy access to the included services. Open-Xchange will provide the e-mail, calendar, contact and task management components that have been successfully established on the market. The functions for online file synchronization and sharing, video conferencing and chat will be contributed by Nextcloud. The Univention Corporate Server identity management will function as the central user management.

In the cloud or on-premise – free choice for the operation of Sovereign Productivity Suite

For the operation of SPS, user organizations shall be provided with various options. It will be possible to operate SPS in your own data center as well as to use it as part of a hosted cloud stack that can be quickly implemented and connected to other services. SPS is ideal for use as a base component in Dataport’s Phoenix project, which is about developing an open source workplace for the public sector.
