The OpenVPN4UCS integration package for the server solution OpenVPN to configure and provide private, virtual networks directly via the Univention Management Console was updated to version 1.1.1 and is available in the Univention App Center.
In the Univention App Center, UCS@school was updated to version 4.0 R2 v2.
We have now been using git as the version control software for our projects in the Professional Services Team at Univention for a number of weeks and to great success. In this blog article, I want to give you a bit more information about our decision to employ git, report on our initial, recent experiences and provide a perspective of the aspects still requiring work. In doing so, I hope maybe to provide you with a suggestion or two for your own projects or that perhaps you will also have ideas for how we can implement our requirements even better using git.
TL;DR
Today, we released the first milestone of Univention Corporate Server 4.1. Prominent features of Univention Corporate Server 4.1 will include the addition of Docker-based applications in the App Center, the implementation of SSO (Single Sign-On) authentication via SAML (Security Assertion Markup Language), as well as new package versions, such as Samba 4.3 and Linux kernel 4.1 LTS. The LDAP packages have been updated as well in this development version.
We are glad to offer another outstanding open source CRM in the Univention App Center – OroCRM from the US-based company Oro Inc. in Los Angeles.
As of today the seventh point release for UCS 3.2 is published. UCS 3.2-7 is available directly as update for UCS or update ISO image for download and includes all errata updates issued for UCS 3.2-6.

One of the most staggering experiences I had when transferring from our Professional Services team to North American management was that suddenly I got into the first line of contact with the potential customer. Suddenly the filter, which was the German Sales team, was gone and I had to handle all customer questions directly.
