With its many solutions, the Univention App Center offers you a multitude of choices. However, finding the perfect fit is not always taking the easiest solution.

The digitisation in schools that are equipped with UCS@school continues to progress rapidly. Many school authorities and federal states are providing schools with mobile terminals for use in the classroom. Apple’s iPads in particular are in demand. The devices are robust, easy to use and affordable. They are also equipped with a large number of special apps for digital education.
While iPads are usually tied to a single user, there is one exception for schools with the so-called shared iPads: Students authenticate themselves with their credentials and can thus access personal data, homework, apps, books, etc. This not only saves costs but in combination with mobile device management also a lot of time, as teachers can manage the contents centrally.
The appliances for the online office solutions Collabora and ONLYOFFICE are now also available preconfigured with Nextcloud. Just like the appliances with ownCloud, the online office solutions can be used immediately after commissioning without additional configuration. Simply log on to Nextcloud, create a document and open it in your browser for editing.
For the development of the appliances, an autoconfiguration was added to the respective apps so that the corresponding plugin is activated and configured in Nextcloud with existing Collabora or ONLYOFFICE. This also benefits the usual installations of the apps directly from the App Center.
The appliances are available for download for the virtualization platforms KVM, VirtualBox and VMware.
