Technical Writer – Software Documentation

  • Bremen, Berlin, Leipzig, Hamburg, Köln, Frankfurt, München, Stuttgart or Home Office
  • Full time
  • Professionals

What Awaits You

We are continuously growing and are looking for reinforcement for our development team, which has so far taken over the software documentation. Work successfully with our current 15 colleagues to bring our documentation to the next level. Whether in the home office or on-site in the office: experience a team that supports each other, is enthusiastic about open source, and has fun at work.

Your tasks:

  • You communicate complex information about our software products UCS and UCS@school to our internal system engineers and consultants in addition to our partners and customers.
  • You independently create, maintain and optimize our user documentation, mainly in English. You will work closely with the Development and Product Management departments as well as Professional Services.
  • You design a new target group and application-oriented structure of the documentation and implement it step by step.
  • You break down complex technical issues into simple step-by-step instructions and organize the documentation content so that the user can find all the necessary information components.

If you’d like to look at who you’ll be working with in the future – our colleague Arvid talks about his day-to-day work here.

What We Expect

  • You have at least four years of experience in the independent creation of software documentation
  • Your writing style is clear, understandable, and technically correct, both in German and English
  • Your strength is communicating with knowledge and information carriers: by actively listening to them in detail and asking questions, you get all the information you need for your work
  • You can understand the different needs of your target groups and work closely with them to tailor the documentation accordingly
  • You have a degree or comparable technical training with professional experience in technical documentation/editing.

What we offer

  • An individual induction by a competent team and a mentor with experience in virtual implementation.
  • A growing company with innovative power and a lot of motivation in the open-source area, which you can help to shape and develop further.
  • A 100% open corporate culture where everyone’s opinion counts and is valued.
  • Flexible working hours that support you in balancing family and career.
  • The opportunity to work in a home office regardless of location – even after the pandemic.
  • Helpfulness, respect, and integrity.
  • A permanent position in a future-oriented and growing company.
