Private cloud solution with attractive introductory price for SMEs
The latest ownCloud version in combination with a support offer from the Leipzig-based company it25 is now available in the Univention App Center. The solution for the synchronisation and shared use of data is aimed at companies with up to 500 employees which want to employ ownCloud professionally and with support and offers you an attractive introductory price.
Bremen, Leipzig, 23rd July 2014 – The Open Source solution ownCloud is a great solution for companies and organisations which do not want to entrust their sensitive data to external cloud services. This file sync and share solution allows them to set up their own cloud on their own infrastructure or externally hosted system. ownCloud can be downloaded from the Univention App Center quickly and easily and installed in a Linux environment based on Univention Corporate Server (UCS). At the same time, the application-relevant user data are taken over from the LDAP and Microsoft Active Directory directory services. ownCloud stores files on a data storage device of your choice and allows simple synchronisation and sharing without being reliant on a third-party storage system on the Internet. This allows the Univention customers to utilise dropbox functions while still retaining full control.
There is now an ownCloud version available in the Univention App Center which is specially tailored to the requirements of small and medium-sized organisations. In addition to the software, “ownCloud by it25” also includes user support. The support is provided by the Leipzig-based company it25, a Univention Premium Partner, which has made a name for itself in the UCS support forum as a competent consultant. it25 expands the ownCloud solution with unlimited e-mail support with a reaction time of max. 24 hours on weekdays. “3rd level support” is offered by ownCloud itself. The price for the package is between €4 and €6 per user and per month (excl. VAT) depending on the number of ownCloud users. More detailed information is available on it25’s ownCloud product website.
“ownCloud by it25” is the latest version 6.0.4 of the ownCloud enterprise solution, with the features removed which are only required by larger companies. “ownCloud by it25” offers all the necessary functions for companies with up to 500 IT workplaces. This also includes home directory mounts and logging modules (audit and sharing). Tablet PCs and smartphones can use the functions of “ownCloud by it25” via the synchronisations clients available in the app stores on the respective platforms. The installation packages for distribution of solutions for mobile device management (MDM) are provided by it25. The next Version 7 of the ownCloud Enterprise Edition will also be supported after its launch, which is planned for autumn 2014.
